can not connect to the Internet

Hey everyone,

I am very sure that my network settings are correct (in
terms of IP addresses, DNS, stuff like that). This
computer can share files on the LAN, can ping to other
computers on the same workgroup, but it just can't get
online, on web sites, etc. I was able to get online
before. The problem isn't my broadband connection because
my other computers don't have that problem.

Is it possible that Windows XP is reading the old/wrong
network settings?? Can the settings be reset? If so,
how? I've tried to install and uninstall network drivers
and all sorts. No firewall is installed.

If someone can help me, I would appreciate.

can you ping a public ip lime 4.2.2.1? if yes, can you ping yahoo.com. If
not, check the DNS settings or use nslookup to check the dns error.
