I have WinXP Pro setup at home and can not connect using
remote desktop. My office machine is also winxp pro. I
have forwarded port 3389 on my home machine and have
connected to it using a friends machine. This tells me
the problem is with my office machine. I attempted to
telnet my home machine and I could not connect. Is it
possible that my office machine is blocking the outbound
port 3389? I have exhausted all possiblities and would
appreciate any help.

Steve

Do you have a 3rd party firewall on your office machine? If so try removing
it.
It is also possible (even likely) that your office has a firewall on the
network. It could be blocking TCP port 3389. Check with your IT group.
