When I try to reinstall my Epson printer I get an error message "set up can
not allocate working memory".
When I try to add the printer through the add a printer wizard, there are no
ports displayed in the "add a port" window.
Epson claims all drivers are fine. Dell says machine is fine.
All of my USB stuff work fine (mouse, Palm, mem stick, etc.)
Please advise,
Thanks
Jim

Because you are trying to REinstall, I assume that the printer was
installed at some point, had some problem, and you attempted to
uninstall it. Try really uninstalling all traces of the printer per
instructions from MVP Bruce Sanderson:
http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm

Then try to install, making sure to follow instructions about WHEN to
physically connect the printer.

Thanks Lem - the article on removing printer drivers completely is excellent
however I still get the "set up can not allocate working memory" message when
I attempt to load the driver.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks,
Jim

Sorry, no. I suggest you re-post with "Epson set up can not allocate
working memory" as the subject. In the body of the post, include the
printer model, the fact that you are running XP sp2, list the steps you
performed to remove the drivers, the problem that caused you to want to
uninstall in the first place, and how you have attempted to reinstall.
The more info you include, the more likely someone may recognize what
the problem is.

Good luck.

Thanks Lem
i will give it a shot,
Jim
