Hi All,

I have a user that trying to creat a simple report with access 2003.the
secruity on the database is set to the default setting. the user is member of
power users group. he go thru the wizard and then when click finish it fails.
if we log on as the local administrator of course it works fine, so we
created the report and copied it , now the user opens the report but nothing
is displayed,as if the report did not open.

the report is a simple display of fields nothing fancy

any idea where to look for clues/answers

Thanks

I'd check that he has a default printer set up & connected, then check the
print driver. Then make sure Access recognizes the Printer (File>Print...)

All report functions (creating, viewing) require a valid printer driver in
order to function. If Access doesn't have any printer information, you
won't get a report.

HTH,

Thanks George,

It looks like the Issues not having a default printer, and here's the
scenario,
1- If I logon as the administrator locally I can setup a printer and Pull up
the report I created and printed.
2- Logon to the domain as the domain administrator and I have three printers
defined, I can print from Excel, word Fine But I open access and try to setup
the printer it just does not open the page at all to set the printer and thus
the report does not get generated.
3- I made the user member of the local administrator group and still can not
setup a default printer in access, I can print from word fine.

I have Windows xpsp1 office 2003 sp1. any ideas.

Thanks

Sorry, nothing comes to mind.

I think Office 2003 SP2 was released this week. I don't know if what you are
experiencing is a "known" bug, much less if SP2 addresses it, but it
wouldn't hurt (knock on wood) to install SP2 and then see if the problem
persists...
I have Windows xpsp1
and maybe WindowsXP SP2 while you're at it...

HTH,
