I have 4 computers on a home network--3 running XP, one on VISTA. The
Router is a LinkSys wireless. The home network has been up and
running for 6 years. However, recently the one computer that is
ethernet wired to the router (running XP) will no longer allow access
to the other computers. It can access the other computers shared
folders, and the other computers can access each other. Internet
access is not effected.
I have insured the folder is set to share, and I have made no changes
to the fire wall (using basic Windows Firewall)
I had a similar problem with this same computer several years ago
(the error code involved NT Rights) I used Windows Resource Tool Kit
to successfully fix it. I tried to download the tool kit, but it will
not install (a conflict with c:\Windows\system32\advpack.dll) . Any
suggestions on how to fix this--or how to install Windows Resource
Tool Kit?
Thanks
