Dear All,

I have a Win2k Pro.
I brought my friend's HD (which also has Win2K Pro
installed on) and attached it as a slave to my computer's
IDE channel with my original HD on the same channel as a
master. Now all went smooth, I started the PC, logged on
to my Windows and explored my friends HD to copy some
files. When I was done copying I switched off the PC,
removed the other HD and started the machine and here came
the misery: Log on screen shows normally, I enter my
username and password and "Enter", the system tends to
login, seems that it passes the logon screen, plays the
Windows Entry music and BU! Reverts back to the logon
screen and just stops there!! No matter how many times I
try to pass, I keep failing.

Anyone can help PLEEEEASE..

....snip tale of woe....

Try a Repair. Press F8 when the screen offering this option comes up -- you
know, those little verticl bars across the bottom of the screen that turn
into a solid bar? That's when. This isn't guaranteed to work, but it usually
does. If it doesn't, you could edit the Registry with regedit, but that is a
dangerous route to go, since it's easy to mess things up even more. Which
means you may end up having to reinstall W2K - which will almost certainly
destroy the data on your C: drive.
