Can MS resend my keys?

I know, it is a total rookie move! I was running x64 on my testing box. I
reformatted it to install x86, went to my email and it is gone! I have been
looking around the Vista site, chatted with a support person who gave me the
866-234-6020 number, the person there led me to this forum. Would it be
possible (once I find the right group to contact) for my key to be resent? I
downloaded the ISOs, if I would have had this shipped I would probably have a
hard copy. I thought maybe I would find something on this site that I could
log into and have it displayed to me again. Not having any luck. But I have a
feeling I am up the proverbial creek...

Thanks,
Levin

i'm in the same boat as you. contacted ms by email. told to call the number
you called. told by operator to go to windowshelp.microsoft.com. afraid
we're stuck til rc1 comes out.

It's very possible that RC1 may use the same key(s) we used in Beta 2.
I don't remember if we got new keys with the Release Candidates in the
XP Beta program or not. Perhaps someone could help me remember?

Perhaps you will back up your email from Microsoft off-disk from now
on (such as printing out the letter you receive from Microsoft and
putting it in a safe place, or backing up your email to a CD, and
putting it in a safe place? Or even purchasing the DVD for a few
bucks. It was delivered in a very nice case, and the case has the
necessary CD key very prominently displayed inside it. Also, you
might consider putting a paper sticker on the case you keep the DVD
copy you made (you did make one, didn't you? And you did put it in a
plastic case to keep it safe, didn't you?) and writing the key on it.
or just write the key on the paper envelope you put the DVD in (you
did, didn't you?).

Other than that, I don't know if the Magical Jellybean Keyfinder will
display Vista's CD key or not. You might try, or go to the
developer's website, and see if he has released an update which works
with Vista.

Were you using an e-mail client like Outlook Express if so, try logging into
the e-mail using your web browser to see if it was not deleted in the web
email server.

For example if you use Hotmail....go to hotmail.com and log-in there and see
if the e-mail was not deleted on the server.

Outlook Express by default deletes e-mails that have been downloaded to your
hard drive from the online e-mail server hopefully you changed or was aware
to change this default as it's handy to keep a backup copy on the e-mail
servers.
