Can motherboards be upgraded for faster cpus than intended?

Hi
My motherboard specs are below. The manual says that the fastest cpu
this motherboard can take is a 1.3GHz one. Can the motherboard be upgraded
to take faster CPUs?

Have you looked at Jetway's web site? Might be as simple as a bios flash,
or it might be a no go. Start at the motherboard manufacturers site first.

Probably nothing faster than a Duron will work, and it wouldn't be a
good upgrade anyway since the chipset, being limited to around 110MHz
FSB, would be a major bottleneck for anything demanding. The board
was also designed before the later AMD CPU power consumption specs
were known, so there's a pretty good chance it'd be instable or
degrade quickly if it could run any significantly faster CPU.

I read on the net that this chipset would take newest Durons from 1,4G
& up , which are easily OC-ed too ... search more for info on the
net/usenet ...

its quite happy with the 1G Athlon in it at the mo, the manual says
that that is fine up to 1.3 anyway
