A friend showed me why they use Netscape. They are a technical writer and
they
telecommute. They often (as in very often) have to copy and paste text from
web
pages. (They work on IBM's web pages with many others so they are
constantly
in communication about parts of pages.) With Netscape, when they copy and
paste, it does so in text format which is very handy for them to email to
each other.
With IE6, it seems that the paste function always puts the info in a table
format
which requires many more steps. Since they do this all day long, it makes
Netscape
the browser of choice.

Is there some easy way to do this in IE6????

Thanks

I assume that you also mean Outlook Express as well? If you set the sent
message to be Plain Text then it will be formatted as you wish. In OE
click Format >> Plain text.

For some text selections (e.g. Title from web pages)
I find it easiest just to use View Source and copy from
the resulting Notepad window. (Alt-V,c and then CursorDown, etc.)

....and after Paste Special, choose Unformatted Text. In Word this will paste
the copied text as whatever your default or current font is set to.

They have to use Lotus Notes (corporate standard). Is there some copy/paste
program that can be
added to IE as a toolbar perhaps that copies in text and not tables???
thanks

They have to use the computers that IBM gives them and the software that
is supported which in this case is Lotus Notes. So the copy function has to
default copy text. Thanks

Thanks Bonnie,
But they have to use Lotus Notes. So the copy function must by default,
copy text so that text is pasted wherever. Is there an add-on that will do
this?
thanks

Notepad should do it. Can't do tables in Notepad. If they haven't got a
plain text editor, I feel sorry for them.
