Is it possible to remove IE7 and run a previous version such as IE6? I have
users running Vista versions but some of their apps don't run on IE7. These
are medical physicians running Siemens applications at their medical
practices.

do not think it can be.
there is a patch somewhere that makes IE7 respond to a query as if it is IE6. that may be all that is needed.
I do not have the address to retrieve it.
might look up in the microsoft knowledge base.

No, you can not remove IE7 from Vista.

However, as Mikeyhsd has already pointed out, you might try downloading and
installing the "User Agent String utility" from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...9c-3c0d-47fe-bd04-fad82a9aac9f&DisplayLang=en

This Utility when started will report IE7 as being version 6 when you visit
a site, allowing you to emulate an IE 6.0 installation . This might help
you overcome any problems with Siemens Browser Add-on's until they update
their software to work with IE7.

Good luck,

It is not possible to remove IE 7 from Vista and IE6 compatibility mode will
not work for Siemens products. I am an application integrator for a local
hospital and Siemens has released several notices concerning this. Also note
that there are at least 4 "security" updates that may break Siemens products
using IE6.
