Just had a thought>Wanted to ask for advise, soooooooo. Is it possible to
create a MovieMaker movie using jpg pictures that I have taken over the past
year or so, add some effects, etc, and put this whole thing on a DVD so that
my Grandparents could just put the DVD into there DVD player which is hooked
to there TV, and watch it. They have never had a computer, but do watch
DVD's often. I'm thinking I just had a bad thought. Have two laptops,
XP-SP3, and Vista Home Premium. Can I do it? Thanks.

Making DVDs that play on free standing DVD
players can be tricky...but yes...you can do it.
Scroll down for several links that will get you
started. (be aware...some DVD players will
not play home made DVDs)

First..create your Movie Maker project and
save it in the DV-AVI format.

Steps for the XP machine:

Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /
Next /
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

On your XP machine you could use the freeware
DVD Flick to create your DVD...which also works
on Vista but your version of Vista also includes...
Windows DVD Maker which you could try.

If you have problems downloading DVD Flick...
try the following direct link:

Save the file to a folder on your hard drive and
install from there.

Just one caveat: DV-AVI format wants approx. 13GB per hour
of video (this might vary depending on content), so make sure your
PC's hard drive has the space necessary.

When you do this step:
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /

The screen might display an approximate size for the movie.
