I'm currently building up a 'frankenstein' PC from old bits and bobs,
which I intend to connect to my Linksys router at home. I'd like to be
able to run this PC as a server, which will be on 24/7, so that I can
have a central repository for sharing stuff with people I work with
(music, digital images, etc).
Is VPN the right thing to be using here? Should I set this machine up
as a VPN server? Does this mean that I could grant my friends access
to this machine permanently (whenever they are online)?
Also, does my router need to be aware of VPN?
Thanks,
Matthew
