Can I use the SATA Hard Drives at 5400 RPM for Video Editing?

I have been using an ATA hard drive which spun at 7200 RPM to do my video
editing. I have been using the Adobe Premiere Elements program on an HP 7000
laptop which has 3.2 MHZ, 2.0 GB of RAM. It worked fine. However, the
computer (due to a technical difficulty with the video card) needs to be
upgraded to an HP 8000. The 8000 comes with the new SATA hard drive. My
research says that the new SATA hard drive is Serial, and has a minimum
throughput of 150 MB/S.

My question is, can I use the new SATA hard drive, even though the RPM is
5400, bu the throughput is faster?

Thank you,

Paul Allen

Yes. However I'm very surprised the HP7000 has a hard drive that spins at
7200rpm. Most notebooks are 5400 or 4800.
