Can I use Outlook 2003 instead?

I just got a new laptop with Vista pre-installed. Now I want to give Vista a
decent "test drive" before I decide on which OS to go with: either XP or
Vista but...

I use Outlook 2003 for my e-mail and I'd like to keep on using it for now
(as I can't afford the upgrade to 2007 yet - I just bought a new laptop you
know). Is Outlook 2003 stable in Vista and what steps do I need to take to
transfer my existing Outlook 2003 information (mail, calendar, contacts,
etc.) to the new laptop?

Any help to let me know if Outlook 2003 will work okay in Vista (as well as
help for transferring) will be greatly appreciated.
