Can I use MS Office 2000 in the Windows XP system?

My new computer came with Windows XP pre-installed on it. I was not able to
successufully install my MicroSoft Office 2000 program which I ran on my old
computer(Windows 98 OS). Will Office 2000 work on the Windows XP system? If
so, are there any patches I need to allow a successful installation and
eventual use of Office 2000 on my Windows XP system?

Office 2000 works just dandy on Windows XP. Tell us more about what happened (in
detail) when you attempted to install it. What messages did you get?

Whoops, sorry, I misread your question. You'll need these *after* you
install Office 2000, not before.

Office 2000 should work on both Windows 98 and on Windows XP.

As for Service Packs, you'll want to check here:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/default.aspx Click Check for
Updates, and it will give you a list of all the updates.

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/CD010225771033.aspx also has
them available. You need Service Release 1a, Service Pack 2 and Service Pack
3.
