Probably not if you have a classic Recovery Disk as it just reverts back to
the same state your system was in when you bought it. But you could contact
your computer vender to see if they know a way to reinstall individual apps
off their Recovery disk.

If you removed Works recently you could try running System Restore to revert
back to the state your computer was in prior to uninstalling the
application. However you will need to reinstall anything you installed after
that date including Critical Updates!

Go to Start->Help and Support->Pick a task and click on System Restore.
Follow the wizard. If the Restore doesn't help you can run it again and use
the option to "Undo the last restore". That will bring you back to how your
system is setup now.

BTW it isn't that hard on your hard drive to reinstall. As a beta tester I
must have done hundreds of clean installs to the same hard drives with no
noticeable ill effect.

Works is not a part of Windows XP. However, if you have a restore disk from
the manufacturer, they may have included it as part of the software bundle
supplied with your system. You may only see drivers on the disk to
facilitate reinstalling drivers without having to run a full recovery that,
as Harry in this thread points out, sets the system back to its factory
default.

Hence, if Works came preinstalled, it may be locked in a compressed file on
the recovery CD. You need to check your documentation, unless System
Restore, as Harry poiinted out is able to restore you to a point just prior
to when you removed Works. NOTE: System Restore removes old restore points
as it creates new ones as space permits so if you don't see a restore point
in System Restore that takes you back to pre-Works removal don't be alarmed.
You can get to System Restore as follows: Start\All
Programs\Accessories\Sysstem Tools\System Restore.
