Can I switch DDR266 for DDR344/400

I am looking at a PCChips P23G v3.0 Socket 775 motherboard. It supports DDR
300/400MHz Memory OR DDR2 533GHz Memory.

Is there any chance that the DDR 266 MHz memory I already have would work
in it?

Unlikely. The speed rating of RAM is the fastest speed at which it could
pass the reliability test by the manufacturer. The RAM may be capable of
running a little faster - perhaps with extra cooling heatsinks and fans. You
may be able to get it to run at 300MHz, but I don't think you'll get 400MHz
out of it. If is can do 300, then do plenty of testing - you don't want an
error to creap in while you are doing something important!

If you can get the motherboard to slow down to the natural speed of the RAM
(as Mike Walsh has already said), then all would be fine, but will run quite
a bit slower than some 533MHz DDR2 memory!
