Can I stop my large attachments from being automatically zipped?

I can't figure it out. Every time I try to send a large attachment, somewhere
between the point I hit send and it goes out, it gets zipped. Lots of my
recipients are MAC users who have no idea how to handle a zip.

I've got Winzip installed and attached to the explorer shell, but there's no
setting concerning Outlook. I switched from Norton to Trend Micro to scan my
Outgoing mail, but I still have the problem. I can't find any setting to turn
this off. My ISP accepts 2Mb files. But I keep sending paltry 250k files as
zips and I can't figure out how to stop it. It's very frustrating.

That's probably an add-in supplied by WinZip. Go to
'Tools|Options|Other|Advanced Options|Add-in Manager' and look for a WinZip
related add-in; if you find one, uncheck the checkbox to disable it. You
might also find an options setting for this in WinZip somewhere.

If you don't have the WinZip addin (or another addin that does zips) do you
have Quickview installed? It will do it too... if not, are you sure it's not
something on the mail server doing it?
