My computer crashed during a power outage (surge
suppressor didn't work). Win2K installation won't
recover. I run MS Outlook 2000. I didn't have .pst
files made. Is there any way to recover mail/contacts
from my profile? (I hooked the hard drive up to an XP
machine, so I can get to the files). Does anyone know
where Outlook 2K stores the mail on a pop3 client? Can
the file be used with a new installation to recover the
information?

Thanks,
Tracy

Not possible. PST files is where Outlook stores your messages. If you had
any messages at all, you has at least one PST file, unless you were
connected to an Exchange server and this sentence in your message:

indicates to me that you were using Outlook as a POP client. In that case,
there IS a pst file and it contains your messages, calendar, contacts, and
anything else you had.

I don't speak for Smiths, and Smiths doesn't speak for me.

Windows 2000 and XP hide .PST files by default, so enable searching in
hidden and system folders and you should find them.
