Can I set up one of my XP computers as a dumb terminal

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by using a computer "as a
dumb terminal".

Do you want to use one computer (let's call it A) to remotely operate
and control another computer (let's call it B)? If so, here are two
ways to do it:

1. If computer B runs XP Professional, enable Remote Desktop on B and
run the Remote Desktop Client on A.

2. Otherwise, install a remote control program like RealVNC on both
computers: http://www.realvnc.com

To me, not a professional, dumb terminal
means a keyboard and monitor that are
connected to a mainframe in a multi-user
configuration that allow the user to access
the mainframe.

Also a configuration on other types of
non-mainframe computers, that act in a
similar way.
