Thank you for your input, I was aware of that option. If I set that
parameter to 1 minute, then I would get my mail reasonably quickly.
However,
the program would then continue to look for mail every minute thereafter,
which just isn't necessary since I don't get that much mail. I usually
set
that parameter for about 30 minutes. And I would like to have any new
mail
available as soon as I sign into the program. I guess I'm having a tough
time believing that this option was available when I was using Outlook
Express by itself (which I had been doing for quite some time), yet it
doesn't seem to be available in the Microsoft Outlook package. It is the
same e-mail program, isn't it?

look in tools, send /receive settings - open the send/receive dialog and
add
a check to the box to have it check for new mail every xx minutes.

How do I configure Outlook so that it immediately checks for new mail
upon
startup? I was able to do this when I ran Outlook Express 6 by itself,
but I
can't find this option within Outlook. I am using Microsoft Outlook
2002.
