Can I set a default category for all new Tasks or Calendar items?

I would like to set a default category for Tasks and also for Calendar items.
I know about Quick Click and might use this to turn off the default. Is
there a default setting...can I use a Macro?

The only default is quick click. I suppose you could write a macro to assign
one automatically. You might also be able to create a template with the
default category assigned and make it the default form. I haven't tested it,
but a template works for many other defaults (but not all) so its worth
trying first.

As an FYI, I verified the published form method works.
