if u are on a network.. then every computer connected to the system should have a computer name. (u can find that out by right clicking on my computer and going to properties. from there u can go the network tab and see ur computer name)
once u hvae the computer name u want to send ur IM too.. then goto start -> run
type the following replacing computer_name: net send computer_name "Hi kids... daddy's home!

If you're using Win9x/Me, you can use Winpopup shipped with Windows.
With Win2k/XP, 'net send'-'messenger service' is available.
