Yesterday I rebuilt my system to make it a dual boot Windows ME-Windows 2000
system. (Love it! Old games work great!)

Along the way I lost my Win2K SP4 installation and a zillion Microsoft
security updates.

Is there any way I can capture these on my HDD so I don't have to tediously
download them all over 56k the next time?

Hi

You can "pre-download" updates from the Windows Update Catalog...

HOW TO: Download Windows Updates and Drivers from the Windows Update Catalog
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=323166

For Service Packs, you can also choose to select "network install" to get the
complete SP to e.g. burn on a CD:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/sp4/default.asp

You are looking for network install version of SP4 at
http://www.microsoft.com/Windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/sp4/download.asp#network
To download the other installable updates, choose "Personalize Windows
Update", save setting, then under "See Also" choose Windows Update Catalog"
If you need to see what you need first, start the normal windows update
process and write down or print the list Microsoft says you need and then
cancel the download. Then find and download them from Windows Update
Catalog.
