Can I save custom shows?

Sonia,

That seems like a good idea, but here's the problem.
I'm a professor using a CD-ROM with scientific
illustrations which are displayed in Power Point. There
are hundreds of figures, and worse, they are divided into
about 25 chapters. So the deletion idea isn't feasible in
this case.

I guess I don't see any utility at all to the Custom
Show feature if the custom shows can't be saved. Is there
absolutely no way to save them?

If you have any good alternative ideas, I'd love to
hear them.

Thanks,

Joe

You aren't really deleting anything from your original presentation. You're
deleting everything you don't want from a *copy* of the original. The
images will be included in the extracted slides.

Custom shows aren't really designed for saving. The ability to define
Custom Shows is there for users who want to use unique subsets of the larger
presentation without having to save to separate files, as you want to do.

Joseph,
Natively this is not possible. However with VBA you can export a custom show
as presentation or any other format as desired. You can take a look at my
Toolbox - an addin which does support this feature.
