Can I Run Chdisk On a Removable Drive

I have a drive from my laptop now put into an external drive that upon
research could possibly be repaired by running chdisk on it. Can I do that?
And how? Thanks

Assuming that was a typo, and you mean chkdsk, open explorer and rightclick
the drive, for Properties/Tools tab, and do "Error Checking"
