Can I revert back to Word 02?

I bought 2003 Student/Teacher Office. I installed Word, Excel, Powerpoint
and Outlook. I absolutely detest Word 03. I hate the schemata and I can't
change it. I hate the way it commandeers my tables and won't let me organize
them how I want them to be. Half of my resources have moved to different
places and now I can't nagivate or find them.

Question: Can I somehow revert back to Word 2002 without losing Excel,
Powerpoint and Outlook 2003?

I do not recall there being such a big difference between Word 2002 and
2003 as you have experienced. In particular, I find the remark about
tables puzzling. Never mind. If you want Word 2002 back, it can be done.

I would recommend the following:

1. Run the Office 2003 setup from Add Remove programs. Select Change and
then Add/Remove features. De-select Word and follow the on-screen prompts.

2. Strictly speaking, it is not necessary but next I would quit Windows
and restart.

3. Run the Office 2002 setup. Select a custom install. Elect to install to
a different directory than the default. e.g. c:\Program Files 2002. It is
best not to put components of different versions into the same directory
structure. The directory will be created. Elect to install just Word and
whichever shared features you want.

Word 2002 and 2003 use the same file formats so user files will not be
impacted.

Let us know.

There was very little difference between Word 2002 and 3 and if you revert
to 2002 you will lose the relationship between Word and Outlook. What
exactly don't you like? Just about everything is configurable.
