I created a new imap account to test the settings in outlook for my
mothers aol account. They worked and so i deleted the account. When
she logged on to aol, all of her emails were gone (i downloaded them)
and when i deleted the account, the subsequent pst file was removed
automatically and its not in the recycling bin. Can anyone tell me
where i might be able to find/restore this account? I am using outlook
2003.
Cheers

Chris

If this is, indeed, an IMAP account, all her mail should still be on the
IMAP server. The local .PST file created with an IMAP account is a mirror
image of the folders on the server. Unless you marked all the messages for
deletion and purged them, they should still be there. According to the info
I've seen on AOL, if you DID delete her email, it should still be in AOL's
"Recently Deleted" folder, provided you deleted them within the last 24
hours.

That's simply not how IMAP accounts work. IMAP does NOT remove messages fro
the server. You've not told us the whole story.
