I have recently recovered my pc (froze during a game and completely
failed to start with some message). I have all my old files (my entire
drive in a 'My old disk' folder) and I would like to restore my old IE
history. Is there any simple copy-paste job that I can do from the
Docs' and Settings folder?

I appreciate any help anyone can give!

Hi Robin :-)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using so I can only guess
at a suggestion. However, try the following and see if it helps.

Restoring a Backup from the Backup History

Copy and reinstall your IE favorites

Exporting Favorites using Microsoft IE

Hope this helps.

Sorry, I'm using windows XP home and the latest SP2 build of IE.

See what XP F.A.S.T feature will do for you then.
Hint: use XP's Help and Support Center (e.g. press Win-F1)
and search for "Using the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard"

However, whereas it probably will transfer portions of your History
such as Favorites, I don't think it will transfer more transitory elements
such has the History folder and its contents. It can't hurt to try.

Good luck
