To update your contacts, you can download the endlessly annoying Plaxo (i
delete any request from them by rules) to have your contacts updated.
To add addresses to your contacts, there is no in-built automatic method
(thank god, otherwise I would have every spammer in the world in my
contacts) but you can right click on selected addresses (good ones, not
spammers) and select to add to contacts.
As for this second request, I have no idea why people, in the face of
overwhelming spam, would want EVERY incoming address added to their contacts
folder. Is this a case of not seeing the forest for the trees? I mean,
really, who wants to have 10,000 addresses such as (e-mail address removed) added
to the address book when you know good and well that is it a spammer's relay
address? Come on folks, think about it!

After furious head scratching, pweisbrod asked:
| i have a contact list that has accumulated over several years. I had
| a download once that automatically sent out update requests but don't
| remember what it was. Also can I have address on incoming mail be
| atoumatically added to my contacts?
