can I remove the X-Powered-By:ASP.NET HTTP header?

Hi,

After installing the 1.1 Framework on windows 2000 I noticed that the
installation added a HTTP header to all the websites: X-Powered-By:ASP.NET.
Does anyone know why the installation added this header? Can I remove it, or
will I regret that?

yes

we have removed it some time ago, and it makes no difference. not sure
why they added it , other than for vanity!
