I've already installed onto existing Win XP Pro.

1: Will the CD allow me to reinstall over existing Vista. Nothing happens
when I put the DVD into the drive.

2: Can I reinstall ... onto a clean formated drive?

Thanks.

Your questions aren't very clear

You mean you upgraded your XP os?

Did you set the BIOS to have the DVD drive first in priority? Your DVD
should boot and allow you to do a repair install of Vista, if that is what
you are asking

Sorry ... will try to clarify. However, I've gotten most (not all) problems
sorted out. Might be able to work through it, but it's been a very long
three days trying to get it working.

should boot and allow you to do a repair install of Vista, if that is what
you are asking. When I first installed, I was instructed to simply insert
the DVD (while windows was running) and it automatically installed. I
expected the same for a reinstall, but following the install, the DVD never
recognized again, that DVD.

Yes - that I figured ... but wasn't sure if it would allow a second install
(the purpose for the question). And yes, I'd have to rest the bios to read
the DVD drive first.Thanks.
