Can I reformat my C: Drive from my Windows 2000 CD??

Somehow my computer has a corrupted file on my c drive and my computer can
no longer find my operating system, and I would like to reformat the C drive
before I reinstall Windows 2000.
Thankfully i have all my important data files backed up on a second hard
drive.
Is it opossible to reformat the C: Drive directly from the Windows 2000
CD, and if so where do I find the reformat commands??

Might want to boot FROM the Win2K CD and try the Repair option 'fore you do all that
work!

Might be as little as a missing file or a bad boot.ini file, ya never know.
