Hello,

I have a "Win2000 Pro SP4" computer.

A friend of mine has a "WinXP Home edition" computer.

If I put his hard disk into my computer, would I be able
to access and read his logical drives (E: F: and his files) ?

Is there a special procedure to do that, or I just need to
connect his disk to my IDE cable ?

Please double-check your response, I need to be 100% sure....

Thank you !

Sincerely,

Dennis

Assuming there is nothing abnormal about the drives and you've both got
reasonaly up to date hardware:

For some files he's made private or set explicit permissions on you made
need to take ownership of them - consult the help for that.

Aside from that, no problem.

If its all the same to you, I'm not going to "double check" my response. I'm
already 100% sure.

Shouldn't make any difference. Just hang his XP drive as
a slave and you should be able to boot your OS and read
the slave drive.

Thanks Robert and Ron. (I'm not the original poster, but wanted to know
about this too).

Then I'm glad we could help 2 for the price of one today. Good luck!
