Can I put outgoing emails directly into a 'filing' folder

Is there a way I can set up my Outlook email so that I can file outgoing
mails directly into their ultimate 'filing' folder rather than have to move
them individually from the Sent folder?

You can create a rule for outgoing messages to be copied to the "filing"
folder. Then every now and then delete everything in the sent items folder.

it's not perfect, but it works real well.

With a rule like that, you can simply disable the option to keep sent items
and then the only copy would be in the folder where the move placed it.
