Can I put contacts that are in a catagory into a distibution list

Is there a way to easily put contacts that are in a certain catagory into a
distribution list?
 
No.

Just select all the contacts in the Category and email them. There are
many posts here about the benefits of Categories of Contacts over Dist.
Lists.
