Can I successfully purge every bit of Internet Explorer
from my system and not ever need it again? Or do other
softwares rely upon it? I do not use Outlook of any type.

Is it possible to remove this browser permanently? Even
from registry.

Do replacement browsers have the same troubles as IE?

If IE does not appear on my Add & Remove Programs list so
where is it's UNINSTALL feature?

Thanks from M!ch!gan

There is no uninstall feature for IE. It's part of the operating system
unless you're running Win95.

In addition to the facts as laid out by Frank, you also *need IE to access
and download from Windows Updates*. There are workarounds, but not one
whereby you can get WU to scan your PC for necessary updates.

If you disable Active Scripting, and ActiveX (or at least set them to
prompt) in IE, you will have eliminated 90% of the problems which makes
people choose browsers such as Firefox. Firefox does not enable features
like ActiveX and the like. Therein lies its main security.

I did not know that and so have a problem. I simply deleted the IE
executable file becuase I was having so many problems with IE, and downloaded
Netscape. Now, I'm always getting an IE popup labeled "Webpage unavailable
while online", with 2 buttons ' connect' and 'stay offline'. I have to kill
the IE process to get it off, but up pops up every couple of minutes. How
can I eliminate this problem?

By the way, I couldn't start a new thread for some reason, the 'start a new
thread' icon is not a link for me...???
