Can I pull pieces of a pie chart out and keep them together?

I am aware that I can pull out pieces of a pie chart, but I want to pull a
few out and keep them together, like pulling a section of pie pieces out
slightly to draw attention. Can I do this?

In PowerPoint 2003, I just grab the piece I want and pull it out. When
I drag it back, it snaps to the original pie automatically.

Yes, make sure you have just that one slice (data point) selected, and you
can drag it out. By default, when you click on the chart, you select the
entire data range, and that will pull all slices out. Just cllick on the
slice you want again to select just that data point.

So you mean pull out a wedge that contains more than one slice? If you pull
out more than one slice (as you have no doubt discovered) they come out
separately and you can't move them 'sideways' to form a wedge. I seem to
remember someone else asking this and I had a play with it for a while and
the conclusion was 'you'll need to fake it'

So, how important is it to you, what version are you using, how many data
points in total, and how many do you want in your wedge?

Sorry, me again. Probably the easiest way to do it (regardless of my other
questions) is to copy -> move original chart off the slide -> paste
special -> enhanced metafile -> ungroup -> yes to annoying message ->
ungroup -> move slices to your heart's content. The pie chart will now not
update as it is no longer a chart - but that's why we kept the original.
