Hello,

I have a laser printer (Brother HL-1440), and I want to print some
transparencies... I'm wondering if i can damage the printer with a wrong
sort of transparencies...

What are your advices ?

Is there any special transparencies that are used for laser printers ?

Thanks for your answers.

Benoit

PS: I live in France, so if you know a french shop that sells transparencies
for laser printers, thanks to name it.

Probably. The wrong type of transparency might melt a little too easily
inside the printer. Your printer manual should describe the media that
the printer can use, or maybe the Brother web page.

Yes. Your local office supply store is probably the best place to look.

Yes, you need transparencies made specifically for use in laser
printers. The toner is fused onto the printing medium by heat, usually
at quite a high temperature. Transparencies that cannot take this
temperature will soften and wrinkle at the very least, or even melt
themselves all over the inside of the printer at worst :-(

The transparencies packaging will state if they are suitable for laser
printing - usually those sold for photocopiers are also OK, but do still
check the labels to be sure.
