Can I play a power point presentation on a DVD player?

Is is possible to burn a power point presentation with music on to a DVD and
play it in a standard DVD player. If so how would I go about doing it? Do I
need to convert it to a different format?
Thanks.

I assume that you have a DVD burner, because that will be your first (but not
last) investment.

If your DVD player is a DVD recorder, you can connect your video card to it and
capture and record the presentation in a fairly simple process. If it isn't a
recorder, read on.

The presentation must be captured or converted to video format and then authored
to a DVD. Not a straight forward process and it doesn't always produce great
results. I would recommend that you first connect your video card to your TV
and use the TV as a monitor to get a feeling for what the presentation will look
like when converted to DVD. (See
http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/multimedia.htm for details on
how to do that.)

The reasons for this are that the resolution will be inferior to what you see on
your monitor, but it does give you a chance to make some design changes. For
example, avoid using the color red, because it bleeds badly on a TV. Us a dark
simple background on your slides and use a large bold white or light colored
font. Leave about 14% of the outside of the slide blank because the TV will not
display that portion.

If after all of that you still want to proceed, see the tutorial at
http://www.powerpointbackgrounds.com/powerpoint-to-dvd.htm and the information
at:
