Can I open a .PST file from Outlook 2003 in Outlook version 2000.
What happens is that I have to send my laptop over to get repaired but I
need my email messages and account to run my business, so I thought I could
export my main account as a .pst not encrypted and then maybe able to open
it in an old PC running Win98 that I have with outlook 2000. I know that
there might be an incompatibility in the database but I thought I try it.
The old PC is to old to support (it doesn't have enough memory) WinXP,
therefore I can't install Office 2003 on it temporally to run my email
account. I anyone has a better solution I would greatly appreciated you
idea!

Thanks for you help

No, you can't. You must create an older format PST file in Outlook 2003
instead.

Russ,
I tried finding a way to export the PST to an older version but I could not
find it, could you tell me how.
I went to export file as PST but I could not choose an older version of PST,
there where no choices as far I could see.

Thanks

Kevin

the compatible newly created PST.

As I said, you cannot export. You must create a new data file in order to
have the option to choose the file format.
