Hi,

I just got a Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Access Point + Cable/DSL Router, and
I'm trying to network a computer with Windows XP and Windows 2000. Each
machine had a new install of the operating systems, and everything I tried
failed. Do these 2 operating systems work together or am I just missing
something. Please send help!

Thank you,
John

Yes the 2 machines can be networked no problem

Need a bit more information though.

Have you installed NIC cards?

Have you set the IP addresses of the cards?

I have a question about XP and Win2000. I currently have a network with XP
Home as my 'server' and Win 98 SE on another desktop, XP Home on my laptop,
a dsl modem, wireless router (Dlink 614+) and an Orinoco Gold pc wireless
card on my laptop.

I want to install Win 2000 Pro on the computer that's currently running WIn
98SE. Since all the server connections are on the XP Home 'server', I'm
wondering if I can install Win 2000 Pro on a desktop and have it be a client
to the XP Home network? I'm just trying to save the time setting everything
up on the Win 2000 when it's all working just the way I want it to (with one
or two minor problems!)

TIA.
