I have been reading these other questions on this issue, but I am apparently
missing something.

Can some one give me a step by step process to do the following: I have
been trying for a week without success.

1. How do I send an e-mail to ALL of my contacts in a particular category?
2. How can I add all of the contacts in a particular category to a
distribution list?

Thanks

1. Group By Category (use the Group By Box) and then select that group and
drag to the Outbox. They'll drop into a new email. You can then drag their
names into the BCC field.

You could also email merge to this Category group - select them, Tools |
Mailmerge | to email | type subject line | OK | insert the Merge Fields (
not word fields) click Merge to email | OK. Ta da!!

2. You'll get better functionality from using Groups as described above.
And there's no way I know of to make a DL from a Category group.

I recommend everyone learn how to manipulate data in table views using the
Field chooser, Group by box and Sorting by clicking on column headers - have
a play.

Change to the By Category view, click the first contact in the category,
press shift and click the last contact in the category, right-click the
selection and choose "New Message to Contact".
2. How can I add all of the contacts in a particular category to a

Since you can send a message to everyone in a category, a DL isn't required.
