XP is on first drive C:, From XP I want to install Vista on second drive G:
, BUT keep XP so I can dual boot system.

Which version of Vista Home Premium x86 do I need, Upgrade or Full version?

I have read so many different answers on these NGs that I am no longer sure
of which is Correct, I want to buy the right one the first time.

Thanks in advance for a definitive answer

Beware of the side effects of dual booting XP and Vista
however.

Without a boot manager (or bitlocker--only available with Ultimate)
that can hide the Vista partition from XP you will loose your Vista
restore points and shadow copies, etc. every time you boot into XP.

| You would need the full retail version.

Thank you Jane and D.O.M, I will take Jane's advice and buy the full
edition, I was planning to use Partition Magic 8.0 to hide the Vista
partition from XP. The dual boot will only be required untill I can get
Vista drivers for my Okidata c5150 color laser printer and Spyder II monitor
profiler.

Make sure to check here about how other users are doing with PM. It may not
be the right choice for hiding Vista from XP. Jane C recommends one called
BootIt NG, if I remember the name correctly. But your decision to use a
boot manager while XP is still on the computer is a sound one.

Thanks Colin, Will look into Bootit NG as you suggest, it may be a better
option than Partition Magic.
