Can I keep a group of files on a hard disk that I plan to format?

I am trying to clean my PC, which has been swamped with
adware and expired shareware programs over the past year.
Rather than individually removing everything, I would like
to just wipe the whole hard disk, reinstall win2k and
start anew.

Is there a way to keep a group of files on the system,
mp3's and .zips, through a wipe?... I have 1 hard disk,
100 gigs, unpartitioned.

If i can avoid transferring all the files to a temporary
PC while I clean this one, it would save a good amount of
time.

Thanks for any help

No way to selectively format a drive, it is all or nothing. Suggestion for
the future, when you reinstall create more then one partion then you wont
have this problem again.
