Does anyone know if I can get the GUI of XP to look just
like the GUI of 98SE. All the soft colors, rounded
and 'smoothy' looking buttons and icons of what I've seen
of XP make it hard for me to use after a while. It starts
to hurt my eyes because since everything is cartoonish
looking, for instance, the white shortcut arrows on a
powder blue buuton start to blur. I where glasses. It
doesn't seem to be as crisp edged and clear as the 98 op
systems. It says in the FAQs that I can get it to
look 'Traditional' but from what I've seen, that is when
everything looks "softy, smoothy, roundy and pastely"

from help & support window.
===========================================
To use the classic Windows look
Open Display in Control Panel.
On the Themes tab, under Theme, click Windows Classic.
Notes

To open Display, click Start, click Control Panel, and
then double-click Display.
After you select Windows Classic, you can change
individual Windows elements, such as window borders,
icons, and menus. Click the Appearance tab, and then
click Advanced to make your changes.

(e-mail address removed)...Sorry to ask this but, should I be
suspect of the accuracy of your reply seeing as your e-
mail is, well, what it is?. By that I mean, if that is
actually 'who' your are, thats fine. But if you are a
derailer then I must be wary of your answer. I need
correct info before I go out and drop the cash.

open start -> help & support window
type in word 'classic'
read first "pick a task" item
learn something about your computer....explore.

I found this once, hope it helps.

1. Right Click on the Taskbar (anywhere in the middle of
the Grey bar on the bottom of the screen).

2. Select Properties (bottom selection).

3. Select the Strat Menu Tab (On the top, to the left of
the Taskbar Tab).

4. Select Classic Start menu (There will be a circle with
a Black dot selected for the Regular Start Menu Already,
when you select the Classic Start Menu option, the other
Black Dot will go away.

5. Click (left) OK on the bottom of the menu.

Have fun, good luck!!

Jeff

P.S. What does GUI mean??

Most people don't use their right email addresses in the newsgroup... To do
so is just asking for spambots to pick it up...

If you're not willing to believe the answers, then why ask a question?
Jerry posted directly from the Help & Support centre built in to Windows and
you could have double checked his answer in seconds...

Jeff;
If I am not mistaken GUI is Graphical User Interface. And if I am
mistaken, I will be corrected. ;-)
