I have been using the Outlook Address Book for several years, first as part
of Office 97 with W98, currently as part of W XP (with SP2) and Office 2000.
It currently has over 6,000 Contacts and about 400 Groups and is growing by a
few hundred a year. Many of the Contacts have no further capacity under the
"Other" tab.
Under my current Address Book format, the Groups appear vertically on the
left, while the Contacts in the selected Group appear as names only on the
right. This format is massively superior to the "Contacts" format.
Making amendments, or adding Contacts, is extremely slow. The program gives
the impression that it is at or close to capacity.
I changed to W XP and XP Office, having been told that XP Outlook had no
limitations on either the number of Contacts, or the amount of information
that could be recorded in "Other".
Unfortunately neither I nor my computer consultant were able to obtain the
2000 Address Book format in XP Outlook, so I have deleted the whole of XP
Office and reverted to Office 2000 - which is probably very close to capacity.
Is impossible to get an efficient and user-friendly Address Book format in
Office, which is capable of handling a lot more than 6,000 Contacts?
