can i get back pictures that i accidently replaced

i was putting pictures into a folder in 'my pictures' and it asked if i
wanted to replace the existing pictures by those names. i accidently pushed
yes and now my former pictures that went by that name are not there and i
cant find them. CAN I RE-REPLACE THE FIRST SET OF PICTURES??!!!
 
When files are overwritten...they are replaced
with the new files and are not recoverable.

If these files were downloaded from your camera...
maybe they are still on your memory card.
