Not sure exactly what the question is in terms of how you're looking/wanting
to do this....so in the interests of time - hopefully this will cover what
you're asking:
#1 - You can't import any user-defined fields using the Outlook import
wizard - you'd have to write your own code or use a 3rd party product (such
as one of ours) to do that (you can also check out
http://www.slipstick.com/addins/contacts.htm for other possible
alternatives)
#2 - If you're not using a custom form - you'll need to create a
user-defined field for each contact. The caveat to this is that the field
only exists in the contact if it's populated (either of our products will
optionally automatically create a field if it doesn't exist). Ergo, if you
traverse the contact collection - you need to make sure to handle those
cases where the UDF doesn't exist
#3 - If you're using a custom form - create a field on that form that will
contain whatever ID info you need. The field will always be available in the
collection whether populated or not.
