We have a Workgroup of 5 PCs, no Server and no domain.

It seems that when any of the PCs are rebooted, or users
are added or modified, that it takes a long
(unpredicatble) amount of time for the entire network to
work right again (that is for shared folders to be
properly shared and seen and accessed).

How often do the computers in a workgroup go araound and
update their "network knowledge"?

Can I force a resynchronization of all the PCs on the
Workgroup?

Thanks,
Spyro

Computer browsing is a little unpredictable. However the computers are
available and you can access them by name.

You can force the replication on the network by
running from each stations the command "gpupdate"
(without the coma), from a dos promp. If their all XP if
there is some station with 2000 pro or 9x it is a
different command.

I tried START => Run => gpudate
I also tried gpudate at a DOS prompt.

command was unrecognized in both cases.
